How to make discipline easier Just because discipline involves enduring poison, that doesn’t mean we can’t make the poison lesser. The Bhagavad Gita states that if we want to achieve anything worthwhile, such as self-transformation, we need to go through a layer of poison before we can get to the nectar of a better self-emerging. That’s 18.37. While the initial layer of poison is unavoidable, we still can do something to make it more bearable. We can make that poison lesser. For example, if we don’t like to meditate, we can at least make meditation easier for ourselves by having access to the tools like beads ready and easy. Even small measures to make discipline easier will make the poison lesser and help us make our change more achievable.
