Intelligence means to know when our views reflect our values and when our views deflect from our values. We all have certain values, things which we consider as vitally important, even indispensable for us. And then we have views. And we can have views on a wide variety of issues. And sometimes our views reflect our values in the sense that they are a natural expression, addressing practical concerns based on those values. And sometimes our views may be more circumstantial and they deflect from those values. Expressing those views can antagonize people and take our energy away from our values. Knowing how our views are affecting our values can help us to decide when to express our views, views and where to restrain from expressing our views.
