Success goes to the head of those people for whom failure goes to their heart. Some people take success and become so bloated that they think they have nothing to learn from anyone and that they are the best and are going to be the best forever. Such success leads to pride that will surely come to a fall. But some other people take failure to the heart so much that they just lose all energy and enthusiasm and become not just depressed but chronically depressed, even suicidal. The Bhagavad Gita tells us that we as spiritual beings exist beyond both our head and our heart and by remembering our spirituality we can avoid extreme reactions both in success and in failure.
