We are never good enough for God, and yet we are always good enough for God. We are never good enough for God in the sense that we can never claim to be so pure that now our purity qualifies us to be in God’s supremely pure presence. Yet, God doesn’t care for our purity as much as He cares for us. That’s why we are always good enough for God, whether we be pure or impure. In fact, that’s what Krishna says at the end of the Bhagavad Gita (18.66) when he says, “I will cleanse you of all sins; just surrender to me.” So the question is not whether we are good enough for God; the question is, are we ready to go to God?
