Bhagavad Gita 18.66

sarva-dharmān parityajya

mām ekaṁ śaraṇaṁ vraja

ahaṁ tvāṁ sarva-pāpebhyo

mokṣayiṣyāmi mā śucaḥ

Give up all confusion about what is to be done,

Come to me alone, the Supreme One;

I will free you from all sinful reaction,

Just surrender; have no apprehension.

My dear Lord, I am afflicted by adversities from the past and anxieties about the future. Trapped in between, I remain unsure about what is to be done in the present.

O benevolent Lord, let me not waste my present by futilely looking only at the past and the future. Let me instead look up to you and become peaceful through surrender, knowing that you are always in charge in every phase of time—past, present, and future. May I thus become purposeful in serving you to the best of my capacity in the present moment, without being overcome by emotions arising from past pains or future fears.

O merciful Lord, help me see the pains of my past as plot twists in an unfinished story, and let my surrender help me become a willing participant in your unfolding plan for me. Let the thoughts of my immediate future, where I may not see clarity amid my current confusion, not consume my consciousness. Help me focus on the eventual future you have in store for me—my ultimate homecoming to you.

With that focus, may I serve you wholeheartedly, confident that even if some of my specific attempts go wrong, you will reciprocate with my overall intention and draw me closer to you.

O infallible Lord, make my heart malleable to your will so that I may be blessed with these two glorious gifts: healing and homecoming.
