Suppose someone has done something hurtful. We may be told by others, just forgive and forget. And that is good advice if that person has really repented internally and reformed externally. However, till we come to know for sure whether that person has changed or not, it may be helpful to forgive in the sense of not holding a grudge against that person and not mentally replying constantly the wrong that they did to us. But it may also be helpful to not forget in the sense that we don’t make ourselves vulnerable to being similarly hurt by that person in the future.
