Self-talk generally refers to the talk that is going on inside the self. This can go on in two ways.: our mind inside us can be talking to us or we can be talking to our mind. When our mind starts talking to us, it generally doesn’t like to have a dialogue: it gets into a monologue which starts dominating, discouraging and destroying us, especially if we become its passive recipients. However, if we take charge of our inner talk and we talk with our mind, calming it, clarifying with it and consoling it and containing it so that it acts constructively – then inner talk becomes constructive.
