To help someone in their moment of need is to be a friend and to make a friend for life. Sometimes we wonder: How can we develop more friends? The simplest ways to do that is to actually help someone when they are in need. Life puts even the best of people in difficulties. At such times, if someone extends a hand of help – not in an arrogant way where they are looking down at the object of help, but in a friendly respectful way – then that person is remembered favorably for a long time, possibly even for life. Thus helping others in need is a very easy and effective way to develop deep and abiding friendships.
