Why do some people become bitter when life gives them problems? And why do others become better, not bitter? That’s primarily because people view themselves differently. And that makes their vision of their life’s problems different. If they think that the problem is so big and they are so tiny, when they feel helpless and maybe even hopeless, that naturally makes them bitter.

But if they see that the problem may be huge but they are parts of a far bigger God and that God has a plan for them, then by staying connected with God in a mood of service, they evolve in wisdom, in their capacity for resilience and service. And thus, they become better.

(Inspired by Bhagavad-Gita 18.35)
