Bhagavad Gita 18.46

yataḥ pravṛttir bhūtānāṁ

yena sarvam idaṁ tatam

sva-karmaṇā tam abhyarcya

siddhiṁ vindati mānavaḥ

From whom all beings have emanated,

By whom all of being is pervaded;

By worshiping that Lord through one’s own deed,

A human being attains supreme success indeed.

My dear Lord, you do not keep yourself inaccessible in a distant spiritual world; rather, you make yourself accessible by pervading the entire world. Thus, you exist not just in your temple, but also in my home and even in my workplace.

O omnipresent Lord, you are especially present in your temple because there you mercifully respond to the aspirations and actions of your devotees. Let me never devalue the opportunity to bask in your presence in your temple. Yet let me never devalue your presence elsewhere either.

O Lord of the universe, may the spirit of devotion in your temple permeate my heart and animate me everywhere, even in my workplace. Empower me to sense your presence and serve your purpose through my work, done in a mood of devotion.

O all-pervading Lord, let my mind not get consumed or confounded by my work’s demands. Let my heart stay committed to you, being sheltered in you and strengthened by you. Ultimately, bless me so that working as worship elevates my heart to reside and rejoice in your endless love.

18.46 By worship of the Lord, who is the source of all beings and who is all-pervading, a man can attain perfection through performing his own work.
