Whenever we are faced with problems, it is natural that we may start worrying about how to drive those problems away. But sometimes, those problems may persist in spite of our best efforts. What do we do at such times? We can work not to drive the problems away but to draw God’s presence close, to invoke Him through prayer, meditation, and mantra chanting.

As His remembrance starts rising and spreading in our heart, His very proximity will drive not necessarily the problem away but our fear of the problem away. Thus, we can be secure, steady, and strong even in the presence of problems, as the Gita assures when it says, ‘mac-cittaḥ sarva-durgāṇi mat-prasādāt tariṣyasi’ (Gita 18.58): ‘If you become conscious of me, you will pass over all obstacles by my grace’.
