Just because our plans don’t work does not mean that we should not plan; It just means that we should not be attached to our plans. We often make plans about how we want things to work in the future. But when the future arrives and things don’t go according to our plan, we may become so disheartened that we just stop planning entirely. However, that will leave us completely unprepared for the future when it comes. That’s why if we avoid the two extremes of rigid planning and complete absence of planning – and we take the middle way of planning and not being attached to our plans, but being instead open to how things work – then we will be best prepared for the future.
