Bhagavad Gita 18.75

vyāsa-prasādāc chrutavān

etad guhyam ahaṁ param

yogaṁ yogeśvarāt kṛṣṇāt

sākṣāt kathayataḥ svayam

By Vyāsa’s grace I came to hear

This supreme secret, precious and dear;

Spoken directly, this wisdom of divine connection,

By Kṛṣṇa himself, the Lord of mystic perfection.

My dear Lord, the obstacles in my spiritual journey come not just from my entanglement in this world, from my material attachments, but also, and sometimes even more so, from my sense of entitlement.

O merciful, omnipresent Lord, once I start prioritizing spiritual growth, it is easy for me to see how material entanglement is an obstacle. Whenever I succumb to my material attachments and become entangled, that makes me humble, increasing my awareness of my need for your mercy.

O infallible Lord, the sense of entitlement, in contrast, erodes and can even eradicate my humility by making me believe that I deserve whatever I am getting and, in fact, deserve far more than what I am getting. Help me appreciate that while I am wandering in this world according to my karma, I have absolutely no right to the supreme spiritual wisdom about your intimate glory: your unfailingly loving and untiringly forgiving nature.

O benevolent Lord, only by the mercy of your saintly devotees, who tirelessly endeavor to share your wisdom and your love, have I had this immense fortune: to become attracted to your supernal compassion and indeed to you.

O all-attractive Lord, may I receive your mercy by which I can gratefully accept your message of love and purposefully apply myself to assisting your mission of love. May I thus become ultimately united with you, O Lord of all love.
