Thus have I heard this conversation,

A source of wonder and exhilaration;

Vāsudeva and Pārtha’s dialogue is thrilling,

It has left my very hairs rising.

My dear Lord, on my spiritual journey, my head is often driven by the need to confirm your intention behind what is happening in my life and your expectation of how I am to respond.

O omnipotent Lord, let me not make the events of my life the center of existence, or even the center of my existence. Let me keep you at the center of my existence. In the big picture of my spiritual evolution, extending over many lifetimes, what is done to me and what is done by me are far smaller issues than how you are drawing me closer to you and how I am coming closer to you.

O omnipresent Lord, my circumstances and my choices surely play a major part in my progress toward you. Yet your plan is far bigger than your plan for me. Your magnificence and munificence are revealed everywhere through the bounty and beauty of nature and through the majesty and mystery of its workings. Help me to be content in calmly cherishing your glory rather than feverishly figuring out your will at every moment, especially when it is elusive.

O beloved Lord, reassure my heart so that it becomes firm in remembering you, and relax my head so that it lets go of its need to confirm. May I thus reside with you in this moment in your delightful presence by offering to you my peaceful presence.
