Bhagavad Gita 18.63
iti te jñānam ākhyātaṁ
guhyād guhyataraṁ mayā
vimṛśyaitad aśeṣeṇa
yathecchasi tathā kuru
Thus have I spoken wisdom invaluable,
Among secrets, this is more confidential;
Contemplate it fully and carefully,
Then, as is your desire, act accordingly.
My dear Lord, you are not a divinity who merely issues commandments, expecting unquestioning compliance, and then delivers curses upon those who show defiance. Rather, you appeal to my intelligence through your reasoned and reasonable words of wisdom that show me both my present situation and my future destination.
O indwelling Lord, help me see that what I think of as freedom is not actually all that free. I act according to my nature inevitably and inescapably. Yet within the bondage that I have brought upon myself through the thoughtless use of my free will, you provide me a way out that is both accessible and transformational.
O merciful Lord, you show how, even while acting according to my nature, I can gradually become free by acting in a mood of service to you. You magnanimously see beyond the conditioned inclinations of my body-mind machine to the unconditioned potential aspiration of my soul—to know you, to love you, and to be with you.
O benevolent Lord, help me see that I gain true independence not by willfully resisting you, but by willingly and wisely realigning with you. May I seek you from this very moment onward—and see you eventually, at whatever moment you deem fit.

18.63 Thus I have explained to you knowledge still more confidential. Deliberate on this fully, and then do what you wish to do.
