If we consider our life to be a story, then who is writing the story? We may say that we ourselves are writing the story through the choices we make. Yes, that is true, but often our choices are not entirely our own. They are influenced by other people’s opinions about us, and by factors that we may not even be consciously aware of. That’s why these unconscious influencing factors need to be healthy, not unhealthy.
The world is always going to affect us, and sometimes negatively. To counter that negative influence, we need to regularly hear God’s words. When we study the Bhagavad-Gita consistently, it ensures that God’s voice becomes a subconscious guide from within, shaping our story toward perfection.
