Humility is the ability to ensure that our ability doesn’t take over our identity. When someone possesses an extraordinary ability, they can very easily become proud of it and start thinking of themselves solely in terms of how they have that ability in such an extraordinary quantity, and how others who don’t have any similar ability are considered inferior or even insignificant.

It is humility that is the ability that helps us recognize that while we may be good, even extraordinarily good at one thing, there are many other things at which we may not excel, and that we need to respect others for their various abilities and connect with them appropriately.
