Curiosity is often recommended and even celebrated as a great virtue for those who wish to keep learning and growing in their lives. Curiosity ensures that we are open to the universe of possibilities and insights that exists beyond the circle of what we know.

Simultaneously, however, we also need to revise and refine what we already know. And to acknowledge that our present knowledge itself may not be correct requires humanity. Curiosity helps us to expand what we know, whereas humility ensures that we revise and refine what we think we already know.
