Bhagavad Gita 18.57

cetasa sarva-karmāṇi

mayi sannyasya mat-paraḥ

buddhi-yogam upāśritya

mac-cittaḥ satataṁ bhava

Offer mentally to me all your action,

Make me your highest aspiration;

Taking shelter of wisdom’s guiding light,

Keep your consciousness in me day and night.

My dear Lord, I want to come to you, yet many of my obligations, and even some of my aspirations, draw me toward the world.

O omnipresent Lord, you are undoubtedly present in the world—everywhere, outside me and inside me. Yet I am unable to sense your presence most of the time when I am acting in the world. Help me to accept this devotional blind spot of mine with humility and honesty. Let me not delude myself into believing that I am serving you when I am actually serving my mundane desires.

O merciful Lord, help me to firmly carve out pockets of time during my daily routines, especially in the mornings, when I can immerse my consciousness in you. May those moments enrich me with the experience of your presence. Let such experiences strengthen my conviction of your omnipresence—that you are present with me wherever I go and whatever I do, even if I cannot feel that presence. Through those experiences and that conviction, let my aspiration become redirected from the world toward you.

O Lord of my heart, please occupy my heart so that the world may not occupy it, even when I am working in the world. And eventually, may I live always in you by appreciating that the world is yours, the work is yours, and indeed, I am yours.
