Pondering our mistakes is helpful if the focus is on how we can learn, but pondering our mistakes can be harmful if the focus is on how we are worthless. We all commit mistakes in life. When such mistakes occur, our response to them will determine whether we go up or we go down. If we focus on the mistake and try to analyze what we did wrong, why we did that wrong and how we can do better next time, then we’ll grow. However, if we focus on ourselves and start repeating within ourselves that the mistake proves that we are worthless, then such pondering on mistakes is toxic – and it had better be stopped right away.
