Some people are afraid of surrendering to God because they fear that they will lose their free will. However, surrendering to God is not about giving up our free will; it is giving up the mentality that impels us to misuse our free will. God doesn’t just want our obedience; He wants our heart. He wants our love, and love has no meaning without free will.
So God wants us to happily, joyfully, lovingly use our free will in harmony with His divine will as an expression of our love. And when we surrender to Krishna, at that time, our free will is not suppressed; it is sublimated, it is spiritualized. In fact, it is utilized to its fullest for giving both God the Supreme satisfaction and our heart also the Supreme satisfaction.
