The mind has a myopia with regards to other’s point of view, especially when that point of view challenges the mind’s comforts and desires. Myopia is where a person is not able to see clearly. And when we use the words ‘the mind’s myopia’, that means we are just not able to see what is right in front of us in the near future: what is going to result as a fairly evident chain of causes and effects. The mind is unable to or unwilling to see things which challenge or jeopardize it’s interests, it’s comforts and it’s pleasures. If we want to be farsighted, it is important that we resist the mind’s myopia.
