Let remembering my spirituality free me from anxiety
Bhagavad Gita 2.23
nainaṁ chindanti śastrāṇi
nainaṁ dahati pāvakaḥ
na cainaṁ kledayanty āpo
na śoṣayati mārutaḥ
“Weapons cannot cut the soul in twain,
Nor can fire burn it or leave a stain.
Water cannot wet it, nor make it decay,
The wind cannot dry it or blow it away.”
My dear Lord, many are the worries, fears, and anxieties that I bring upon myself whenever I forget my identity and fixate on things that are extraneous to my identity.
My obsession with worldly possessions and positions subjects me to so much emotional drama, which sooner or later ends up inflicting upon me so much emotional trauma.
Your declaration that I am the indestructible soul, unaffected by any of the countless things that threaten my body and the things connected with my body, is like a healing elixir.
Bless me, O Lord, so that these words of wisdom become the anchor that holds my consciousness steady while my body and the things connected with it are subjected to the storms of life.
Grant me the intelligence to begin each day contemplating not just the indestructibility of my soul but also how my soul has an eternal relationship with you, the whole, who are eternally infallible.
It is only when I shift my focus to my soul’s indestructibility and your infallibility that I can live without being afflicted by fear in a world filled with fear-inducing dualities.

02.23 The soul can never be cut to pieces by any weapon, nor burned by fire, nor moistened by water, nor withered by the wind.
