Bhagavad Gita 18.70

adhyeṣyate ca ya imaṁ dharmyaṁ saṁvādam āvayoḥ

jñāna-yajñena tenāham iṣṭaḥ syām iti me matiḥ

Whoever studies this, our dialogue of truth profound,

Worships me with the wisdom by which devotion is found.

Through their head, their hearts becomes their offering

With me, they live in a love undying.

My dear Lord, when I have the opportunity or the responsibility to study and thereafter share your message, let me not get caught in thinking only of points that impress me intellectually or points with which I can impress others similarly. Let me not get so caught in the head that your message doesn’t reach my heart. And if it doesn’t reach my heart, is it any wonder, O Lord, that the outreach from my head does not reach the hearts of my audience?

O supremely intelligent Lord, let me not devalue my intelligence in serving you, but let me not overvalue it either. Let me remember, O supreme guru, that the purpose of receiving and sharing your message is not just to achieve an agreement of heads but to bring alignment of hearts. And for that harmony of love to happen in my audience, it has to first happen in me, within my heart.

O merciful Lord, please manifest yourself in my heart. Let the desire for sharing your message arise from my heart enriched with your loving presence through my study of your message. May this desire coming from my heart reach and enrich my audience’s hearts.
