We worry not because we have too little faith in God, but because we have too much faith in our fears. Whenever we worry, especially when we are also trying to be devotees of God, then we may feel, “Oh, my faith is so weak that I am having this worry in spite of my devotion.” However, the problem is not that our faith is too weak. Rather, it is our faith is too strong, but it is also misdirected.
We are having faith in our fears. Our fears don’t predict the future. No one knows the future. But when our fears start telling us this may go wrong and that may go wrong, when we believe those, we are having faith in our fears. We don’t need to increase our faith. We just need to redirect our faith from our fears to our Lord.
