Bhagavad Gita 7.6

etad-yonīni bhūtāni sarvāṇīty upadhāraya

ahaṁ kṛtsnasya jagataḥ prabhavaḥ pralayas tathā

 

All beings arise from these two natures,

Born of My will in varied creatures.

Know Me the source from whom all flow,

And into Me they all shall go.

 

My dear Lord, you are the unseen unity beneath the world’s dazzling diversity. The variety in the world, manifesting through sights, sounds, and smells, titillates and captivates. In the long run, O Lord, it all turns out to be empty, stale, and insubstantial, all the more so when I think that the newness of these mundane manifestations can provide me any new pleasures.

O Lord, you are the supreme guru of the entire universe. I want to be your student. Educate me to see beyond this bewitching appearance to the enriching substance that is ultimately you. You are the supreme reality that enables all other realities to exist. It is you alone who can help me to become situated and sheltered in what is real. Only then can I stay undistracted and undegraded by everything that is superficial and insubstantial.

So that I can hold on to reality, bless me, my Lord, with two benedictions: intelligence and perseverance. Intelligence to remember that I and everything around me has come from you. And perseverance to offer the things around me to you, and through such offerings, ultimately offer myself, indeed my entire being, to you.

07.06 All created beings have their source in these two natures. Of all that is material and all that is spiritual in this world, know for certain that I am both the origin and the dissolution.
