Bhagavad Gita 6.28

yuñjann evaṁ sadātmānaṁ

yogī vigata-kalmaṣaḥ

sukhena brahma-saṁsparśam

atyantaṁ sukham aśnute

 

“With steady practice, pure and bright,

The yogi basks in Brahman’s light.

Freed from sins, in peace they stay,

Embracing bliss that knows no decay.”

 

My dear Lord, on the spiritual journey, realizing your all-pervading presence as Brahman is indeed a profound realization. Nothing, O Lord, exists separate from you. Indeed, everything exists in you—within your all-pervading effulgence, the fundamental substratum of all existence.

O Lord, while some perceive this all-pervading ocean of light as impersonal and as the ultimate spiritual realization, you, O Lord, reveal it to be sustained by you and, indeed, to be the dazzling effulgence of your personal form—simultaneously non-different from and different from you.

Please, O Lord, help me treasure every experience of spiritual reality for it opens portals to a fascinating reality beyond the mundane. Yet, help me not to equate my present spiritual experience with the ultimate reality, thereby limiting my growth.

My Lord, my heart longs not just for the peace of this divine light. It longs for love, purpose, reciprocation, and ecstasy—all of which are found in having a personal and intimate relationship with you, O Lord of my life.

While being for every spiritual experience I receive, let me, O Lord, remain purposeful in progressing toward you in your most personable self-existence as Krishna, the all-attractive Lord of my heart.

06.28 Thus the self-controlled yogī, constantly engaged in yoga practice, becomes free from all material contamination and achieves the highest stage of perfect happiness in transcendental loving service to the Lord.
