The Bhagavad-gītā explains the three modes of material nature and how they affect our vision of things. Let’s see how the modes affect our vision of death.

People in the mode of ignorance become overwhelmed and paranoid when they see death and that’s why they want to avoid all thoughts of death entirely. Otherwise, they become helpless.

People in the mode of passion look at death and think we have to enjoy immediately before we lose our youth and the opportunity for enjoyment.

People in goodness see death as an opportunity and impetus to ask what really matters in life.

And those above goodness in śuddha-sattva, in pure goodness see death as a doorway to reunite with Krishna in eternal love.
