Bg 10.34

mṛtyuḥ sarva-haraś cāham
udbhavaś ca bhaviṣyatām
kīrtiḥ śrīr vāk ca nārīṇāṁ
smṛtir medhā dhṛtiḥ kṣamā

Word for word: 

mṛtyuḥ — death; sarva–haraḥ — all-devouring; ca — also; aham — I am; udbhavaḥ — generation; ca — also;bhaviṣyatām — of future manifestations; kīrtiḥ — fame; śrīḥ — opulence or beauty; vāk — fine speech; ca — also;nārīṇām — of women; smṛtiḥ — memory; medhā — intelligence; dhṛtiḥ — firmness; kṣamā — patience.

Translation: 

I am all-devouring death, and I am the generating principle of all that is yet to be. Among women I am fame, fortune, fine speech, memory, intelligence, steadfastness and patience.

 

mṛtyuḥ sarva-haraś cāham, sarva-hara, in this world there are thieves which steal away, so some thieves stole money some along with money cards and some cloths also but no one steals like death, death not only takes away our possession, not only takes away our identification card but it takes away our identification itself. 

udbhavaś ca bhaviṣyatām, But Krishna’s opulence is not only one side He is not only destroyer He is also the creator, I am the principle undelaying future manifestations. E.g. Arrival of new life. In SB in 6th canto it is described sometimes husband is potent and wife is fertile still progeny is not conceived why is that? Sometimes Doctors says everything is all right but still progeny is not conceived, so SB tells that we are not the ultimate doers, so life doesn’t just come by union of male and female, there has to be sanction of God above all that. 

kīrtiḥ śrīr vāk ca nārīṇāṁ, smṛtir medhā dhṛtiḥ kṣamā so here are given list of qualities…Kirti fame, beauty, vak, fine speech nārīṇāṁ of the women, smṛtir medhā dhṛtiḥ kṣamā, so memory intelligence firmness and patience, there are various explanation given by Acharyas these qualities are considered feminine, SP mentioned among women I am fame, fortune, fine speech…so what does it mean? When women have these qualities that is manifestation of Krishna that is true, another meaning is these themselves are feminine qualities which means there are certain nouns which are masculine and certain nouns are feminine so Nari Nam refers to feminine nouns and among feminine nouns these are special, so the point is we can see opulence of Krishna and attracts ourselves to Krishna. Vak also refers to Sanskrit language it is said that Sanskrit is capable of expressing every thought what human mind can come up with that is the specialty of that language. So Vaka is often refer to as Sanskrit.
