Bg 3.36

arjuna uvāca

atha kena prayukto ’yaṁ
pāpaṁ carati pūruṣaḥ
anicchann api vārṣṇeya
balād iva niyojitaḥ

Word for word: 

arjunaḥ uvāca — Arjuna said; atha — then; kena — by what; prayuktaḥ — impelled; ayam — one; pāpam — sins; carati — does; pūruṣaḥ — a man; anicchan — without desiring; api — although; vārṣṇeya — O descendant of Vṛṣṇi; balāt — by force; iva — as if; niyojitaḥ — engaged.

Translation: 

Arjuna said: O descendant of Vṛṣṇi, by what is one impelled to sinful acts, even unwillingly, as if engaged by force?

 

Is it truly anicha? Not exactly when desire comes, we accept that desire. Overall that desire is not there but when temptation comes and that time if the desire comes it overpowers us than we say yes to the desire, for example the addicted people says I don’t want to drink alcohol but still he drinks the same. In normal state of consciousness we doesn’t want to do such things it. This is most relevant section of BG in present time… e.g. there are big sports star which has lot of potentials but they become summed to some addiction they take away so much of their time and mental energy. All of us find there is some enemy within us which forces us to act in such a way, what is that force where does it originates from and how we can control it.
