Fear accelerates our imagination and blurs our perception of what is real and what isn’t. When we are being swept away by the power of fear, it is very difficult to immediately activate our intelligence to evaluate whether our fears arise from reality or from imagination. At such times, if we focus on connecting with the one who is truly real — the Divine, by praying, mantra chanting, or worshipping, we can activate our intelligence and enable ourselves to differentiate between real and unreal fears. To know when a fear is real and when it is unreal, first focus on what is truly real: the Divine.
