Bg 11.2

bhavāpyayau hi bhūtānāṁ
śrutau vistaraśo mayā
tvattaḥ kamala-patrākṣa
māhātmyam api cāvyayam

Word for word: 

bhava — appearance; apyayau — disappearance; hi — certainly; bhūtānām — of all living entities; śrutau — have been heard; vistaraśaḥ — in detail; mayā — by me; tvattaḥ — from You; kamala–patra–akṣa — O lotus-eyed one;māhātmyam — glories; api — also; ca — and; avyayam — inexhaustible.

Translation: 

O lotus-eyed one, I have heard from You in detail about the appearance and disappearance of every living entity and have realized Your inexhaustible glories.

bhavāpyayau hi bhūtānāṁ, bhava is creation, āpyaya is destruction, 

bhūtānāṁ, of all of existence,  

śrutau vistaraśo mayā, I have heard about all this in detail, 

tvattaḥ, and about You also 

kamala-patrākṣa, O lotus eyed one,

māhātmyam api cāvyayam, Nature of You glory is imperishable.

kamala-patrākṣa is very sweet address normally this types of address comes in prayers about the beauty of Lord, Arjuna has addressed Krishna with other names before. Soon after that Lord Virata Rupa comes where His eyes are blazing and it will be difficult to look at the eyes, so it is the same Lord who is so attractive in one manifestation and so intolerably fearsome in another manifestation, so whole Gita is flowing towards understanding intimate personality of God, go to intimate understanding of God, and Arjuna intimacy is addressed by kamala-patrākṣa. 

Arjuna is building up to the request.
