Then Krishna encourages Arjuna by saying if they can be elevated then why can’t you?

Bg 9.33

kiṁ punar brāhmaṇāḥ puṇyā
bhaktā rājarṣayas tathā
anityam asukhaṁ lokam
imaṁ prāpya bhajasva mām

Word for word:

kim — how much; punaḥ — again; brāhmaṇāḥ — brāhmaṇas; puṇyāḥ — righteous; bhaktāḥ — devotees; rājaṛṣayaḥ — saintly kings; tathā — also; anityam — temporary; asukham — full of miseries; lokam — planet; imam — this; prāpya — gaining; bhajasva — be engaged in loving service; mām — unto Me.

Translation:

How much more this is so of the righteous brāhmaṇas, the devotees and the saintly kings. Therefore, having come to this temporary, miserable world, engage in loving service unto Me.

So even those who are of low born can be elevated then kiṁ punar how much that is likely for you for those are having favorable starting point brāhmaṇāḥ puṇyā bhaktā rājarṣayas tathā

So Krishna is telling Arjuna emphatically that practice Bhakti

anityam asukhaṁ lokam, said same in 8.15 dukhalayam asasvatam here same point asukhaṁ and anityam.

In 8.15 also He said those who worship Me will not come to dukhalayam asasvatam but will attain Supreme destination same He is telling imaṁ prāpya bhajasva mām,

So when we say dukhalayam asasvatam, it means there is no point in putting all our energy in making this place a comfortable place but the basic duty has to be taken care of like mother-child, husband-wife & child, king – citizen

When citizens came to Prithu Maharaj and said digestive fire is burning us Prithu Maharaj doesn’t said good it is dukhalayam. He made arrangements to take care of them

But not all effort should go in removing miseries of this world. E.g. in hospital miseries are there and there are process to become free from miseries which has to be followed.

Janma, Mritu, Jara, Vyadhui is for everyone but the 3 Kalesha are vary depending on how we act.

So imaṁ prāpya now you are here then do bhajasva mām.

In hospital one can show a patient to another more serious patient and say see their decease is far greater than yours so when they are cured you will also be cured so just take the medicine.

E.g. 3rd class passenger in train wanted to go to 1st class that is fine but he should not miss or leave the train in the process.

Also all of us have certain propensities that belong to us from birth but it majorly depends on the quality.

So birth give us a nature. We should be comfortable internally and competent externally.
