But the question comes what if I don’t have devotion. Krishna says still you can offer it to Me.
Bg 9.27
yat karoṣi yad aśnāsi
yaj juhoṣi dadāsi yat
yat tapasyasi kaunteya
tat kuruṣva mad-arpaṇam
Word for word:
yat — whatever; karoṣi — you do; yat — whatever; aśnāsi — you eat; yat — whatever; juhoṣi — you offer; dadāsi— you give away; yat — whatever; yat — whatever; tapasyasi — austerities you perform; kaunteya — O son of Kuntī; tat — that; kuruṣva — do; mat — unto Me; arpaṇam — as an offering.
Translation:
Whatever you do, whatever you eat, whatever you offer or give away, and whatever austerities you perform – do that, O son of Kuntī, as an offering to Me.
So Krishna is telling generically over here that whatever one does one can offer it to Him.
yat karoṣi yad aśnāsi, Whatever we do whatever we eat whatever we give away juhoṣi, dadāsi whatever we are offering yat tapasyasi, whatever austerity we do
tat kuruṣva mad-arpaṇam, you offer that to Me so Krishna is not using the word Bhakti over here so what Krishna is saying the principle of offering to Him is also auspicious so here neither Bhakti is mentioned not aśnāmi is mentioned so Krishna doesn’t say explicitly that I will accept it that doesn’t mean Krishna will reject it.
So when we offer food to Krishna and a pure devotee offer food to Krishna, is there any difference? Yes there is difference in the quality of devotion, and naturally there is a difference in quality of reciprocation but still that doesn’t mean that everyone who doesn’t have pure devotion is left out of the world of devotion, proportionate to our devotion Krishna reciprocates, so in previous verse emphasis is on aśnāmi and bhaktyā but here the emphasis is on the principle of offering. Krishna is saying tat kuruṣva mad-arpaṇam, you offer it to Me. And Krishna is saying by this you will get auspiciousness you will get purified.
