Making plans makes us productive. Becoming attached to our plans makes us unproductive or even counterproductive. Whenever we have to do something worthwhile in our life, something that is important for us, it is always helpful to plan how we will stay focused and how we will deal with potential obstacles and distractions. However, after making a plan, if we become too attached to that plan, then our vision becomes narrowed by that plan and we start becoming resentful and even hopeless when the plan doesn’t work. And then even if one door has closed, another door may have opened, but our attachment to our plan blinds us to the door that has been opened. And that is when that attachment to planning becomes unproductive or even counterproductive.
