Because life is full of uncertainties, we’ll all sometimes feel anxious, insecure, or worried. We can’t remove fear from life— but we can refuse to live under its thumb.

The key lies in what we give our attention to. Fear grows when we fixate on what’s beyond our control, and it fades when we focus on what is within our control.

The Bhagavad Gita (15.7) reminds us— we’re not the supreme controllers. Because we often can’t control many things that matter deeply to us, fear will be unavoidable. Yet the same verse declares that we are parts of the supreme controller. That means we do have some control—and that’s enough.

When we use that control to focus on doing our part, fear loses its unbreakable grip. As we ease our way out of fear’s grip, we discover it’s not unmanageable after all.

So next time fear looms large, shift your focus from control to contribution— and where panic once threatened to rule, peace will rise quietly yet firmly.
