Whenever we lose something,

it hurts—

the deeper our attachment,

the deeper the pain.

But spirituality gives a bigger vision.

Think of a garden:

even the most cherished plants are pruned.

Not because the gardener dislikes them.

Not because he ignores their pain.

But because pruning helps them

grow more beautiful,

more abundant,

more healthy.

Similarly, what we call losing

may be God’s pruning.

Not because He doesn’t care.

Not because He’s blind to our pain.

But because He wants the best for us.

Arjuna realized this after hearing the Gita’s wisdom (18.73).

And so can we—

when we learn to see our losses

through the eyes of Gita wisdom.

When we are in pain, let’s offer a simple prayer: my dear Lord, help me see beyond my losing

to your pruning.
