Suppose you fail—and fail when everyone sees it.

You may feel like disappearing,

running not just from that place,

but from yourself.

Unfortunately, you can’t run away from your pain;

thankfully, you can rise above it.

How? By understanding what truly causes the pain.

It’s not the failure itself;

it’s the belief that the failure defines your worth,

your potential—ultimately you.

The Bhagavad Gita (2.23) assures

that deep within us, beyond the reach of any pain, lies our core identity—

our spiritual essence that can never even be damaged,

let alone destroyed.

Connecting with our spiritual core makes us resilient and resourceful.

Resilience comes from remembering

that our essential identity—the basis of our self-worth—

is undiminished by pain.

Resourcefulness comes from knowing

that tomorrow the sun will still rise outside,

and our soul will still shine inside—

and we will have a fresh chance to do something meaningful.

To heal from failure,

don’t run from it on the outside

—rise above it on the inside.
