dvau bhūta-sargau loke ’smin
daiva āsura eva ca
daivo vistaraśaḥ prokta
āsuraṁ pārtha me śṛṇu
Synonyms:
dvau — two; bhūta–sargau — created living beings; loke — in the world; asmin — this; daivaḥ — godly; āsuraḥ— demoniac; eva — certainly; ca — and; daivaḥ — the divine; vistaraśaḥ — at great length; proktaḥ — said; āsuram — the demoniac; pārtha — O son of Pṛthā; me — from Me; śṛṇu — just hear.
Translation:
O son of Pṛthā, in this world there are two kinds of created beings. One is called divine and the other demoniac. I have already explained to you at length the divine qualities. Now hear from Me of the demoniac.
dvau bhūta-sargau loke ’smin, so this world there are two kinds of people daivi and Asuri,
and
daivo vistaraśaḥ prokta,
āsuraṁ pārtha me śṛṇu
I have described to you in detail divine nature now I will describe to you demonic nature.
So in this chapter although in few verse only godly qualities are described but earlier Krishna has described it many times in 2nd chapter He has described the characteristic of Sthitha Prajna, from 2.54 to 72. In 3rd chapter also He has described when He is talking about kings like Janaka and others who live in detachment, in 4th chapter also He has described from 4.19 to 23, He has talked about Nishkam Karam Yogi, then again He has described few verses in 6th chapter, then especially in 10th chapter He has described the godly qualities, the qualities which comes from Krishna, 12.13 to 12.20 He has described the qualities of the devotees, 13.8 to 12 He has described the characteristics of those who has knowledge. In 14th chapter also He has described the characteristics of those who are in goodness and those who has transcended. So Krishna says I have already described it elaborately. But now
āsuraṁ pārtha me śṛṇu
now I will described to you the demonic qualities.
