Bg 3.37

śrī-bhagavān uvāca

kāma eṣa krodha eṣa
rajo-guṇa-samudbhavaḥ
mahāśano mahā-pāpmā
viddhy enam iha vairiṇam

Word for word: 

śri–bhagavān uvāca — the Personality of Godhead said; kāmaḥ — lust; eṣaḥ — this; krodhaḥ — wrath; eṣaḥ — this; rajaḥ–guṇa — the mode of passion; samudbhavaḥ — born of; mahā–aśanaḥ — all-devouring; mahā–pāpmā — greatly sinful; viddhi — know; enam — this; iha — in the material world; vairiṇam — greatest enemy.

Translation: 

The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: It is lust only, Arjuna, which is born of contact with the material mode of passion and later transformed into wrath, and which is the all-devouring sinful enemy of this world.

 

Arjuna’s question: what impels us to sin?

Krishna’s answer: It is lust and anger, in this world  for everyone lust is the enemy 

Lust transmogrify (transform into ugly form) into anger.

Krishna is independently blissful we are dependently blissful we are tiny if we try to enjoy independent of Krishna the happiness we get is also tiny on the other hand when we enjoy with Krishna our happiness is huge. When we have desire to enjoy separately from Krishna we get disconnected which causes bondage and suffering.

When a person is having Indriya-tripti Jigyasa he will not do Brahma Jigyasa. When people are surfing channels they found that no channel is making them happy so they keep changing channels thinking may be next channel will make me happy. After prolonged attempt they will be baffled.  Brhama Jigyasa is when someone is serious that there is something beyond this world. Lust in the form of Adi Rasa is also present in Supreme but it is transcendental. Material lust is pervaded and there is no limit where it can go. There are various types of sexuality and hence it is all devouring. People are not able to see the link between the lusty things which they are looking / searching eagerly in the media and the horrifying related news they receive or read. Lust become blinded and sometimes it is not able to differentiate, people say that in movies what is shown is consensus sex and what happened as bad news in society is brutal forceful sex but since lust makes some people blind that is the reason for happening this. When people have culture they will not do this but it also happens that people slips off. Lust has devastated Ajamila.
