Have you ever felt invisible—

unnoticed, unheard, or unvalued?

The largeness of the world

and the busyness of people around us

can make us feel

as if our existence doesn’t count.

But nothing could be further from the truth.

Whether the world values us or not,

God does.

Each of us is so precious to him

that he descends into this world

to give us the chance to love him,

serve him,

and ultimately return to him.

If we are so important to God,

why don’t we realize it?

Because he is not important to us.

In any relationship, if we don’t value the other person, we won’t value their love–or even notice it.

In the Bhagavad Gita (18.64), Krishna tells Arjuna—

“You are dear to me.

I am determined to love you,

no matter how much or how long you refuse to love me.

I speak for your benefit,

to remind you of my love for you.”

Let us make God important to us

by investing some quality time

to pray to him

and thus bring ourselves into his presence.

The peace and joy we experience

will be the evidence

of how important we are to him.
